St. Peter Julian Eymard was a French priest and founder of the Congregation of the Priests of the Blessed Sacrament. Born in 1811, he was ordained in 1834 and joined the Marist Fathers, gaining renown as a preacher. In 1856, he left the Marists to establish a new community focused on deepening devotion to the Eucharist. With support from St. John Vianney, he founded both a men’s and a women’s congregation centered on Eucharistic adoration and spiritual renewal. His work greatly influenced Catholic Eucharistic devotion and continues through the ongoing mission of his religious communities.
